Hand in Hand is an educational curriculum designed to take the classroom from inside to outside, creating an immersive, hands-on learning experience.

This project originated from being asked by the Het Galjeon Elementary School in the Hague to help redesign the school courtyard for children from the age of 5 to 9. In order to redesign the space I created a learning plan that is implemented within the corresponding layout of the courtyard.

The courtyard is split into five sections, each correlating with subjects offered within the school. These five sections include: The ‘Live’ Herbarium, Plant a Tree, Taste the Garden, The Ecosystem of a Garden, Garden of Words.

Within the process of designing the curriculum I worked with education specialists to ensure that the project can be executed.
