Embrace
2017
“I don’t want women to look all innocent and naïve… I want women to look stronger… I think they deserve more respect… I want people to be afraid of the women I dress.” – Alexander Mcqueen
I have a fascination for words, for stories, for the connection between what is being said and how it makes us feel. I believe in the hidden power of words, in times of sadness, in times of confusion, in times of happiness.
Embrace was created as a shelter, a cocoon of comfort and empowerment. Inspired by the powerful words of Alexander Mcqueen, this layered metal shell was shaped to physically and metaphorically engulf you while inside.
The hand-written quotes and poems were all individually chosen for the purpose of strength, power and a state of well-being.
